Nationalism amongst the Turkish people or the young turks had a significant impact over the Ottoman empire, dividing it, and ultimately leading a rebellion against the Ottoman empire’s traditional ways that led it's collapse .In the very last sentence of the document it mentions how Ahmed Riza is fooling themselves also implying that he is fooling his followers under the name of changing the nature of Turkish characters. So he is taking his Turkish background and using his support for their reform under the Turkish name, and that reform led to the collapse of the Ottoman empire.
