The last battle was called battle of Palmito Ranch. The bloodiest day in the civil war is the battle of Antietam. The South took just 9 million people — including 3.5 million slaves — in 11 confederate states. Despite the North's greater population, however, the South had an army almost equal in size during the first year of the war. The North had an enormous industrial advantage as well! So it was a bit tough. The result of the civil war was the dissolution of the Confederate States,U.S. territorial integrity preserved, Slavery abolished, Beginning of the Reconstruction era, Passage and ratification of the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution of the United States.
