Equality of the sexes have long shaped society even though reformation is being made every day, as the world changes. In most of the last women were known as the wife and mother who shaped society by being supportive, being loyal and attentive/ also being the voice behind her husband, women were to be seen and not heard, women were caretakers and nurtures in the home for their children most importantly. Women were expected to cook and clean for a living. A men on the other hand was the worker and provider. The men wasn't always present in the home, he was usually out taking care of "more important things" and making moves, but his presence evoked respect and adherence. You didn't want to upset the "dad".
In the 20th century things started to change, a revolution wasn't beginning. Not only did the industrial revolution fast forward society and living to a whole nother living but World War 1 set the pace for women and children to start doing work that was usually set aside for a man. But aside from that women started using their voice and power for more Equality among men and women. The 19th amendment saw that women can vote , Women were able to work in other career fields than nursing and school teacher, women also started to fight alongside men in war.
